DIY

I totally stole this idea from Jessica over Project: 10k Wedding. So thanks for the idea!! :)

I bought this at my dollar store for $1. It is just a small photo album. Cute huh?

And inside I am keeping ideas and things that I have made for my wedding in them. I am printing everything out that I like, I have made, Or that I want to make. This way everything is right together and I can take this with me where ever I go. This is going to come on hand when I go to the mall in a couple of weeks to get my flowers. I have a picture of my bouquet so instead of trying to remember I can just look at this. I thought it was an awesome idea!! So here is my take on it. :)

DIY Finished Bridesmaids Bags

Yesterday I got the bridesmaids tote bags done. I just have to say they are adorable, I should have gotten one for myself. lol. All 3 of the bags are the same, but 1 of them I put sunflowers on because I know that she loves sunflowers. They are just simple bags. I thought they could use them to put their clothes in or whatever else they need at the wedding. So here are the finished bags:

The brown bag and the Olive Green bag are the same. With the butterflies in the bottom left hand corner. Aren't they cute?? I am so proud of myself.. :)

Then this bag has the same butterfly as the rest of them but it is in the top left hand corner and then I put 2 little sunflowers in the bottom right hand corner because I know that she likes sunflowers. :)

DIY Bridesmaids Gifts...

Me and the family went to Wal-Mart today. As I was looking around I seen that you could buy these little tote bags that you could decorate yourself. I just had to have them. I then seen the little iron on embellishment things that you can get, so I got some of those too. I am going to make my bridesmaids their own little tote bags made by me. :) I hope that they like them. Here is what I got to make them:

In this picture is the tote bags. One is Brown, One is an olive green, and the other is an ivory color. They are SO pretty! Then for the iron ons I got a misc. pack some butterflys and then a couple of gem ones. Not sure what I want to use yet. But I figured if they come out good I could go buy some more and make me a couple. :)

This is a close up of the iron ons that I got. So I am hoping that they turn out cute.. I will post pictures when I get them done. :)

AND, something I am really excited about. I got the 1st and 2nd season of the Gilmore Girls. I LOVE this show but after I moved out of my moms I forgot about it being on and just didn't have time to keep up with it while it was on TV so I bought the first two and then everytime I go over I am going to buy either one or two until I get all of the seasons. Here is a picture of them.. :)

Wedding Location

Last night the we decided to ride up and take a few pictures of where we are getting married. The snow was crappy driving threw and some of it was mushy so we thought our car would get stuck. :) But I thought it would be nice to show pictures of where we are getting married.. So, here they are:

This is a picture of the gazebo that we are getting married under. Not sure if that is what they are called but the fiance said it was. :) Isn't it cute? And it will be so nice all decorated. I can not wait!
And this is a picture of where we are having the reception. I put a little piece of the gazebo in to to show how close everything was. That is what I love about where we are getting married, we can get married and then go right to the reception. I always hated having to drive to receptions after a wedding.

This is a picture of my fiance Todd and our oldest son! Aren't they cute?? Awwww.. :)

Then this is a picture of me and our oldest son. You can't really see us because my son wanted to stand so far back in it, but it's still cute. :)

Cake Topper

I had already decided that I didn't want a cake topper. I was just going to have my Aunt make another little bouquet to go on top of the cake to match my flowers. But the last time we went shopping we saw this:

So now we have a cake topper. Isn't it funny and cute? I love it. Everyone else will find it funny that knows us as well, at least I think they will! :) I don't have blonde hair though, so I am going to get some brown paint the next time I go shopping and paint her hair brown so that it kind of matches me a little more. :) Todd has really short blonde hair, basically bald. Not because he is old he just likes it that way. :) But this will work. :) I am not going to sweat the small stuff..

DIY Votive Holders.

If you go HERE you will see that I got 18 votive candle holders for $18.00 at a Dollar General that I went to. I am going to get white, unscented candles to put inside of them. But when I went to wal mart I bought some brown ribbon that I put around the votive holders. It turned out really cute and I think it will look nice on the tables. I only got about 6 of them done, I have a total of 18 to do. It gets boring taking your time wrapping the ribbon around these cups and trying to tie it so that it looks nice. But here is my finished results...

Thanks for stopping by.. :)

Ring Update.........Again!

I ended up going back to wal mart yesterday with my mom. We took Todd's ring back and THANKFULLY they took it back without the tags on it. I wanted to just exchange it for a different size but they didn't have the same ring in a 10. So we ended up getting a totally different looking ring. If you want to see the ring before go HERE, this was the happy post about the ring. If you want to read the not so happy post about the fiance's ring go HERE.
Thankfully now we have it all figured out. I ended up picking out a different ring for him. Not knowing if he would like it or not, and thankfully he does!!! Go Me!! :)
Here is a picture of the ring I got him:

So now that this is taken care of be on the look out for a DIY project that I started, and also another thing I bought for the wedding cake. :)

Ring Update!

Ugh, I am not sure where to start with this. I am still so mad and frustrated! lol.
Last night we ended up going to wal mart and getting Todd's ring. He tried it on at the store, it went on nicely but he had a hard time getting it off. I told him that if it was to tight we would just order him a different size, he told me that it fit good. So, we bought it!
We get home, he takes the tags off the rings, throws them away!! He tried the ring on again and he can't get it off. It took him about 3 minutes to get this ring off. No kidding! They told us at the store that the ring that he wanted they couldn't send it in and get a different size. So there is no point in taking the ring back. I am going to try and sell it for the $50.00 that I paid for it and order him a different size. Another thing is that he swore he wore a size 9. Guess not! lol..
HERE is the ring I blogged about yesterday, that I was SOOO excited about!!

*Either tonight or tomorrow I will show you some other stuff I picked up at wal mart. And hopefully today I can get at least one of my projects done so I can take a picture and show everyone. :)

The Fiance's Ring

My fiance has finally picked out a ring that he likes.

They have this same ring at wal mart. So that we don't have to order it online. The last time we were over there he was supposed to try it on. That didn't work! We ended up buying our new TV and he was so worried about someone stealing the TV out of the car while we were still shopping that he couldn't take the time to try the ring on and get it sized. So we are going back over either tonight or tomorrow. Depending on the roads since it is snowing, again! I am so sick of winter!
He doesn't want an expensive wedding ring. He doesn't want to wear a ring what so ever. He is not a jewelery guy. But I told him that he HAS to wear his ring ALL of the time. lol. He told me that he didn't want an expensive ring so one night while I was searching online I found this ring and showed it to him and he likes it. So, it's not very expensive but if he likes it and will wear it who cares right? Money isn't the reason behind it, no one cares how much your rings cost.. At least I don't. :)

More Awesome Savings.

Yesterday me and my kids and one of my bridesmaids went wedding shopping again. And surprise, I went back to the Dollar Bazaar and I also went to the Dollar Store and got an awesome find!.. But anyway, here is the stuff that I got.

The way that I took the picture of this bowl it looks really small. But really it's not. I'm not sure what to actually call it but it reminds me of one of those glass bowls that you can get to make layered desserts in. It is really deep and very wide across. These were only $3.75 a piece and I ended up getting the 4 that they had. I am not sure what I am going to do with them yet. Maybe get some of the those pebbles and put them in the bottom and some flowers, maybe fill it with water and some floating candles. Not sure, if you have any ideas let me know. :)

I then got these plastic bowls. I am going to use them for either the candy I am getting or maybe nuts? I'm not 100 percent sure on what I am going to put in them. But these will work really well because they are a good size!. Here is another picture of a close up of one, where you can see the design on it, it is very wedding-ish and when you see them in person you can't really tell they are plastic..

And here is the close up of the bowl with the little scroll like work on the side. It reminded me wedding-ish and for only $1.00 a piece who could beat it right?

I then bought this card box for $1.00. I was going to make my own card box with hat boxes but when I seen this I just had to buy it. That means less for me to make. It isn't set up all of the way because I didn't want to accidentally rip it or something taking it back apart. I just took it out of the package and kind of set it up so that you could kind of see what it looked like. I like it and this will save me time in the long run without having to make my own. I will probably get some ribbon and what not to put on it to kind of liven it up a little.

These are the wine/champagne glasses that I got for $1.00 a piece! You are probably thinking that they are really cheap and not sturdy and will break, well, not true! :) These glasses are really thick and very sturdy. My dad is going to etch on the sides of them with every one's names, a symbol that I like and the date of the wedding. When he gets those done I will post a picture of them. But these glasses are SO pretty. I love them. I am thinking of maybe getting some ribbon, charms or something for the bottom of the glasses. But I think after my dad does what I want on them they will look really nice. I only bought 8 and then my mom informed me after I got home that I need 4 more. Two for her and my dad, and Two for Todd's dad and Step mom. I wish she would have told me that. lol

I then got these toothpicks to put at the buffet table and to also put one on each table. I know they do not match what so ever with my fall wedding. lol.. But I know that a lot of people are always looking for toothpicks after they eat so I just bought these. I thought that they were cute with the little fringe stuff at the top.. And they were only $1.00 for the whole box..

And then at the Dollar Store I got my Votive Candle Holders! These were only $1.00 a piece and I got 18. Which is plenty enough to decorate the tables with. I was really excited that they had these. I want to find white candles and put glitter on the candles. I then want to take some ribbon and put them around the top of the Votive Holders. I think they will be really cute!..

Grand Total spent: $57.50 (This total is with the napkins that I got that I didn't take a picture of. They were only $1.25 for a huge bag of them. I am not having decorative napkins.)

2 packs of Thank You Cards. $1.00 a piece
3 packs of Make your own Printable Tags $1.00 a piece

DIY Nails

Here is my first DIY project and it is nails. I wanted some nice nails for my wedding but I didn't want to spend 25-45 dollars to get my nails done. So, one day I was watching some YouTube videos and I came across a video for Broadway Nails. You can find the YouTube video HERE. So when I went to Wal Mart on Friday I decided to pick me up a pack of them and try them because they looked really nice on the girl who did the YouTube video. And I have to say I was not disappointed! These nails look and feel like you have just been to a salon and got your nails done by a professional. No kidding! They look awesome. I put these nails on Friday and it is now Monday and they still look like I just put them on. The wear on them is between 7 and 10 days so I would say do them 1 to 2 days before your wedding and they will look awesome.
Here is one picture of the my nails with the Broadway Nails on. (FYI, Broadway is just the brand of the fake fingernails. :)
Aren't they pretty? Nice and shiny and they aren't too long either. That is another thing, when you buy the nails make sure that you get the "Real Short" kind. It says that right in the left hand corner of the package. I can actual still type and do everything else with them on, they do not get in my way what so ever.
The whole package cost my a little under $6.00 and you get the nails, glue, a nail file, and a cuticle pusher. I know that in the YouTube Video that I watched the girl said to put the glue right on the fake nail and then apply the fake nail to your real nail. I did this for 2 of my nails and stopped doing it. The reason for this was that my real nails were shorter than the tan color of the fake nail and I actually put the glue up to high and I glued my skin to the fake nail. So after those 2 nails I then just put 2 drops of glue on my actual nail right in the middle, I then took the tip of the glue and swirled the glue around on my fingernail, all the way to the sides of my nail, all the way to the top of my nail and make sure that you get plenty of glue and that is spread around the whole nail so that you don't get spots that you can see through the fake nail. Then when you go to put the fake nail on push REALLY hard for 10 to 15 seconds. Push as hard as you can stand it. This will get all of the air bubbles out and your nails will look awesome! If you have any questions you can e-mail me or comment on here.
I hope you enjoyed this DIY project. I am really happy with these nails and think they look awesome!
And here is the last picture of my nails that I took:

HERE is the website to check out all of the Broadway nails they have.

My first Post (Long)

I just started my wedding blog, so this is going to be long. :) My fiance and I have decided to get married September. 4. 2010. So I have over a year to plan.
A little about me and my fiance, I am 22-years-old he is 32. We have 2 beautiful little boys together ages 2 and 9 months. We have been together going on 6 years and engaged for a little over 4.
The fiance picked out the wedding date which couldn't have been better for me since I love Fall. I love earth tone colors. So naturally my bridesmaid dresses are going to be Brown. The wedding is going to be outside and then the reception is in walking distance from where we are getting married. It is inside so if it is supposed to rain at least we will be dry in there. :) Here is a picture of my bouquet:
source
I have decided to do fake flowers and have my Aunt put them together for me. So I will be going shopping in a few weeks for those. I am not all about the fresh flowers. Just not for me.
Here is a picture of my wedding cake:

It is not going to be exactly like this. I am going to have brown ribbon around the bottom to match the bridesmaid dresses and I am also going to have flowers that match my bouquet in it instead of the pink ones. I haven't decided get if I am going to have a man and a woman on top of the cake or if I should just have my Aunt make another little bouquet for the top of the cake. That is undecided.
A lot of the things in my wedding are going to be a sort of DIY. I am making my own invitations. And instead of doing individual favors I am going to be getting big mouthed jars and bowls and filling them with different candy and leaving those on the tables. This will save me time and money.
So far for the place we want to rent is going to be $200.00 the DJ is going to be $325.00 and we have decided on a buffet style dinner for after the wedding. We are just going to have salads, meatballs, deli meats, cheese and crackers, sausage sandwiches. Just easy normal stuff that we know everyone is going to like.
I have yet to go try on dresses but I have time for that. :) I want to get all of the decorations bought this year so that we can focus on the tuxes and my dress for next year and paying for our location to rent. So this year is all about the decorations and I will take pictures of things that I get so that you all can see it.
You will not believe the amazing deal on some decorations and Thank You note cards and some other things. But that will be for another day. :)
I also am seriously thinking about doing the Christmas Ornaments that I seen on The Indecisive Bride's Blog. So beautiful!.
Anyway, that is enough for tonight. I will try to post back everyday or every other day depending on when I can get the pictures I take uploaded on to my computer. :)
Thank you for reading!
